Pumpkin Festival

Sept. 18-Oct. 31, 2010
Fri. 1-6 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Be sure to visit Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm during our favorite time of year—pumpkin patch season!!

There’s nothing like the fresh, crisp country air to help you relax and savor the season! You may choose to begin your visit with a stroll on our nature trail. You'll go past one of our pumpkin patches, over two creek bridges, and through the wooded pasture where you may glimpse a rabbit, frog or turtle, or see the tracks of the deer and raccoon which are frequent nighttime visitors to the creek.

Experience the interactive Kids’ Gourd Garden before heading off for some vigorous playtime digging in the corn box and climbing on the playground equipment and hay bales. There are friendly horses and cows to visit, and several farm-themed play areas and agricultural exhibits to explore, but you may want to stop by the Schoolhouse Café first. Fill up on delicious smoked pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, or freshly baked desserts, all in the charming atmosphere of our authentically-restored one room schoolhouse.

Scenic tractor-drawn hayrides to the U-Pick pumpkin patch depart hourly. When you get back, head to the hay loft in the barn to paint your pumpkin (free with paid admission and pumpkin purchase) or build a scarecrow to take home. There is also a great lookout window where you can get a bird’s eye view of the farm.

What better way is there to end your visit to the farm than with a shopping spree? First on the agenda, of course, is to pick the perfect assortment of pumpkins, heirloom squash, and harvest decorations! We sell straw bales, corn shocks, large, beautiful mums and all the essentials. Our restored barn store houses a complete gift shop on the first floor, filled with unique seasonal décor, tasty food mixes, gifts, crafts, and primitives. Finally, grab a snack from the Popcorn Parlor for the ride home, and start making plans for your next visit!

You won’t find a more relaxing setting offering a more complete country experience. Start a new fall tradition with your family this year!

--No outside food or drink, please.  (Birthday cakes o.k., see Parties page for details.)--
