Pumpkin Festival

Sept. 20-Oct. 31, 2008
Fri. 1-6 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
**Also open Columbus Day, Mon. Oct. 13, 2008, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.**

Be sure to visit Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm during our favorite time of year. Shop for a wide variety of fall produce including gourds, ornamental corn, organically-grown squash, and pumpkins of every color, shape and size. We’re proud to offer many hard-to-find varieties at great prices!

You may choose to begin your visit with a "get-acquainted" stroll on our nature trail.  You'll go past the pumpkin patch, over two creek bridges, and through the wooded pasture. The original trail is 1/3 mi., or you may continue on the extended trail for a total of 2/3 mi. past a small pond and the horse pasture.

Next, the kids can enjoy some vigorous playtime digging in the corn box, climbing on the playground equipment or hay piles, navigating the wheel barrel obstacle course, hiding in the gourd cave, or testing their marksmanship on the pumpkin slingshot. (Don't worry, grown-ups -- there are lots of shady places to relax in the fresh fall air while the kids play!)

There are farm animals to visit, and the Chicken House, Corn Crib, and farm machinery exhibits to explore, but you may want to stop by the Snack Shop in the barn first. We offer lunch, yummy homemade baked goods, fresh popcorn and other goodies for sale.  While you’re in the barn, head upstairs to the hay loft for pumpkin painting (free with paid admission and pumpkin purchase) or build a scarecrow to take home.  There is also a great lookout window overlooking the pumpkin patch.

What better way is there to end your visit to the farm than with a shopping spree? First on the agenda, of course, is to pick the perfect assortment of pumpkins and harvest decorations! We sell straw bales, corn shocks, mums and all the essentials. Our restored barn store houses a complete gift shop on the first floor, filled with seasonal décor, gifts, foods, crafts, and primitives.

You won’t find a more relaxing setting offering a more complete country experience. Start a new fall tradition with your family this year!

--No outside food or drink, please.  (Birthday cakes o.k., see Parties page for details.)--
